Artist Statement

I am a painter and mixed media artist based in Massachusetts. My work explores the more-than-human world and intends to embrace its interconnections. I am driven by a deep sense of wonder and fascination for the natural elements that surround me. By gathering imagery and objects from my outdoor ventures, I create portals into worlds that attempt to capture the sense of belonging I feel when I am in the depths of nature. The lush leaves, ferns unfurling, crystal clear streams, and strange mushrooms enthrall me as I step through. This all causes me to wonder about the connections and reciprocity between organisms. My work is informed by research, readings, exploration and observations that regard ecological truths and societal views.
